Saving notes on Irys

Notes are saved on Irys mainnet. Sprite pays for the upload, so it costs you nothing.

How a note is saved

When you ask Sprite to remember something, it uploads the text as plain text and tags it with your wallet address (User-Wallet). The reply includes the note's ID and a link on gateway.irys.xyz. You can also find it later on the Activity page.

Reading a note back

Paste an ID and ask what it says. Sprite fetches it from the Irys gateway and shows the text. Files that aren't text are described, not shown.

How long notes last

Notes are stored by the Irys network, not by Sprite. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

Daily allowance

Each account can save up to 20 notes and 256 KB per day, and one note can be up to 100 KB. The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. Sprite also has a shared daily storage budget; if it runs out, saving pauses for everyone until the reset.

Sprite says

Notes are public on Irys. Don't save passwords or anything private.
